THE LEAN ASSESSMENT HAS THREE OBJECTIVES:
1. To enable a company to take inventory of what Lean Enterprise best practices are currently utilized on their shop floor and in their office and to identify how prevalent these practices are found throughout the company.

2. To provide the company with an awareness of the Lean Enterprise best practices that are on the shop floor or in the office, but are not prevalently applied and, hence, should be considered for implementation.

3. To identify management’s knowledge of Lean and their willingness to implement and support a program within their company.

TOPICS COVERED IN THE LEAN ASSESSMENT:
• Prior to delivery of the Lean Assessment we will provide a Lean Executive Overview to the participants in order to have a clear understanding of the benefits and the potential power of Lean Enterprise.
• The Lean Assessment consists of ten categories that describe the best practices that constitute the attributes of a Lean Enterprise. Prior to conducting the assessment, to identify opportunities for improvement, we ask each participant to complete a Lean/Flow enterprise self-assessment of their current operation. The categories include:

  1. Communication and Cultural Awareness
  2. Visual Systems (5S) and Workplace Organization
  3. Standard Work
  4. Continual Improvement
  5. Operational Flexibility
  6. Mistake Proofing/Poka-Yoke
  7. SMED/Quick Changeover
  8. Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
  9. Pull Systems
  10. Balanced Production
