Allentown, PA – The Manufacturers Resource Center (MRC) announces the addition of Bonnie L Spayd of Bernville, PA to the MRC staff as Regional Director, Manufacturing Solutions for Berks and Schuylkill counties. Bonnie will mentor small and medium-sized manufacturers to improve their competitive position and will be a dedicated resource for business growth, workforce development, and funding opportunities.
Bonnie is an experienced educational professional with proven success in developing strategies, partnerships, and events to fund programs and projects that create positive economic impact for manufacturers and the community. Working in and with manufacturers for most of her professional career, she is passionate about individual company growth and the economic vitality of the sector. Bonnie will focus on MRC business services, grant and funding opportunities, and training and certification programs for manufacturers in Berks and Schuylkill counties. She will also lead industry partners to promote careers in manufacturing in the middle schools with the “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?” Student Video Contest.
“Bonnie’s strong background in workforce development and knowledge of state and federal grants are valuable to MRC clients,” says Rich Hobbs, President & CEO of MRC. “Bonnie will assist manufacturers with resources and services at MRC that drive improved profits and business growth.”
Prior to joining MRC, Bonnie was the Coordinator of Continuing Education and Workforce Development at Penn State Schuylkill, Schuylkill Haven, PA; Executive Director of Business & Industry Programs, Schmidt Training & Technology Center at Reading Area Community College: and Director, Business Development with the Manufacturers Association, Reading, PA. Bonnie earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Education in Biological Sciences degrees from Kutztown University.
