Overview

The 5S System: Workplace Organization and Standardization is a Lean Enterprise Methodology that reduces waste through a systematic application of the 5S’s:

Sort Remove unnecessary items from the workplace “When in doubt, throw it out”
Set-in-Order Locate everything at the point of use “A place for everything, and everything in its place”
Shine Clean everything inside and out

Prevent dirt and contamination from occurring

“The best cleaning is to not need cleaning”
Standardize Make a routine and a standard for what good looks like “See and recognize what needs to be done”
Sustain Foster a culture that maintains the previous 4S’s “The less self-discipline you need, the better”

 

Training Format

Full day of training with “Simulated” 5S Kaizen Event

The 5S System will be delivered as a combination of presentation and application of the 5S techniques.There will be a simulated production line with assembly areas, tools, and inventory.  Participants will serve as employees in the operation.
