A strong internal auditing program is essential to maintaining and continually improving a Quality Management System (QMS) and to meeting ISO 13485 certification requirements.

MRC’s two-day virtual Internal Audit Training teaches participants the ISO 13485 standard and the fundamentals of the internal audit process. The course prepares internal auditors to conduct audits in a positive, constructive, and professional manner.

COURSE HIGHLIGHTS

Participants will learn how to:

  • Plan and schedule internal audits
  • Prepare for audits using effective tools such as checklists, matrices, documentation, and schedules
  • Conduct internal audits in accordance with ISO 13485 requirements and identify compliance gaps
  • Collect and evaluate objective evidence, including procedures, work instructions, records, personnel input, and implementation practices
  • Develop clear written audit reports that document strengths, nonconformities requiring corrective action, observations, and opportunities for improvement

Auditors are trained to support the success of their own functional areas while objectively auditing other areas of the organization (auditors may not audit their own work). This approach promotes cross-functional collaboration, communication, and relationship building. The course includes multiple interactive exercises, and participants who successfully complete the training will receive a certificate.

Wanda TorresWanda is a quality professional with over 20 years of experience in quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement. She has worked in different management roles in quality and operations of pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing companies. Wanda is an MBA graduate from Devry University and has a bachelor’s degree in Science. During her career, she has implemented and guided certification efforts on ISO 9001, ISO 13485, FDA Quality System Regulation for medical devices, and cGMP’s for pharma businesses. Additionally, she has provided consulting services to other industries and supported efforts to obtain certifications in a variety of standards, including AS9100, ISO 14001, ISO 17025, ISO 27001, and ISO 45001. She is also a trainer for Metrology concepts, GD&T ASME Y14.5, SPC, and Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology. Wanda is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, and served as Judge and trainer for the International Team Excellence Award competition at the ASQ World Conference for 10 years.
