Federal Shifts Won’t Change Our Mission
A Letter from MRC President & CEO
by Richard Hobbs
Dear MRC Community,
It’s an honor to connect with you as we reflect on our shared journey and look ahead to the opportunities before us. At MRC, we’ve been privileged to grow alongside the manufacturers we serve, driven by your confidence in our ability to deliver innovative solutions, impactful training & certifications, leadership development, onsite shop floor efficiencies, automation and technology solutions, group forums, and inspiring initiatives that elevate our industry.

Our momentum speaks volumes. From the enthusiastic participation in our *What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?* student video contest, now celebrating 12 years of success — to the trust placed in us by leading companies to train and empower their teams, we see a manufacturing community that values what we bring to the table. Your support has fueled our growth and desire to expand and deepen our impact. We remain committed to that vision.
Recently, we received news that federal priorities are shifting, with resources moving away from programs like the Manufacturing Extension Partnership that have long bolstered our efforts. While this change presents a financial challenge, it does not define our path. MRC’s strength lies in the relationships we’ve built and the results we’ve achieved together. With your partnership, we are equipped to navigate this moment and continue driving excellence in manufacturing.
Our focus remains unchanged: delivering the solutions you need, fostering the next generation of talent, and strengthening the industry we all care about. We’re not slowing down! Our programs, events, and training opportunities are as robust as ever, and we’re energized by the road ahead. MRC stands ready to adapt, innovate, and lead, just as we always have.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Your belief in us is our greatest asset, and together, we’ll keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in American manufacturing.
Warm regards,
Richard Hobbs
