Mack Trucks’ Lehigh Valley Operations in Macungie is set to receive a significant boost with $208 million in funding from the Inflation Reduction Act, announced by U.S. Sen. Bob Casey. This funding, part of the Domestic Manufacturing Conversion (DMC) grant program, will support Volvo Mack Trucks’ five-year plan to transition to clean energy vehicle technologies and create 295 new union jobs. The grant will enable the company to implement mixed-model assembly, allowing for greater scalability and flexibility to meet the growing demand for zero-emission vehicles.
