Manufacturing boom in Lehigh Valley music to their ears
The Lehigh Valley Manufacturing Forum, held at the Delta Marriott on October 3, 2024, celebrated the region’s manufacturing sector and the community’s commitment to economic growth. Co-hosted by the Manufacturers Resource Center (MRC), Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, Workforce Board Lehigh Valley, and Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation, the event drew manufacturing professionals, local officials, and community members. Speakers shared insights on key topics including economic trends, workforce development, and technological advancements, highlighting the strength of Lehigh Valley’s manufacturing industry, which contributes $8.1 billion to the region’s GDP and supports 37,000 jobs.
Chamber President Tony Iannelli and LVEDC President Don Cunningham praised the region’s skilled workforce, strategic location, and ongoing investment in infrastructure as driving factors behind the Lehigh Valley’s manufacturing boom. Cunningham noted a pressing need for additional manufacturing facilities to meet demand. Richard Hobbs, MRC President, emphasized the forum’s role in keeping industry stakeholders informed of the latest trends and opportunities.
With the continued support from initiatives like the CHIPS Act, local leaders are optimistic about the future, envisioning further investment and growth within the Lehigh Valley.
