MRC’s two-day Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) course is designed to familiarize participants with the rules and symbols associated with this practice.
The powerful GD&T language—all of which is based on the ASME Y14.5-2018 Standard—improves communication on mechanical drawings, and offers many advantages over traditional “plus/minus” tolerancing. Participants learn to identify, interpret, and apply the 14 geometric characteristic symbols, as well as how they relate to datums. They also cover proper interpretation of GD&T callouts, as well as their impact on manufacturing. MRC’s GD&T course is intended for CAD designers, product engineers, manufacturing engineers, manufacturing personnel, and quality/gauging inspectors, especially those who have limited or no experience with GD&T.
Course Highlights Include

- Describe how Rule #1 controls the form of a feature
- Interpret the feature control frame
- Apply and interpret the MMC and LMC modifiers
- Identify datums and explain their role in GD&T
- Identify new modifiers from the 2018 standard and prior editions
