*New* Practical Problem Solving: The 8-Step PDCA Method

Event Date:

October 6, 2026

Event Time:

8:30 AM

Event Location:

Manufacturers Resource Center, 7200A Windsor Drive, Allentown, PA, 18106, USA

Most teams don’t struggle to solve problems, they struggle to solve the right problems in a way that actually sticks.

This one-day workshop introduces a practical, disciplined approach to continuous improvement using the PDCA (Plan–Do–Check–Act) method, equipping participants to move beyond quick fixes and toward sustainable, data-driven results.

Designed for manufacturers and operational teams, this session focuses on applying PDCA as a structured problem-solving and learning cycle. Participants will learn how to clearly define problems, identify root causes, and develop testable hypotheses rather than
jumping to solutions. Through guided exercises and real-world examples, attendees will practice executing small-scale trials, evaluating outcomes against expectations, and making informed decisions based on data.

The workshop also connects PDCA directly to A3 thinking, reinforcing how this method supports alignment, communication, and accountability across teams. Emphasis is placed on building a repeatable process that can be applied immediately on the shop floor or
within business operations.

By the end of the session, participants will have a stronger understanding of how to lead and contribute to continuous improvement efforts, reduce waste, and improve performance using a structured, proven methodology. Whether new to PDCA or looking to strengthen existing practices, this workshop provides a clear, actionable framework for driving measurable results through disciplined problem solving.

COURSE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Apply the PDCA (Plan–Do–Check–Act) method to solve real operational problems with structure and discipline
  • Strengthen root cause analysis skills to move beyond symptoms and implement lasting solutions
  • Learn how to develop and test hypotheses instead of jumping to conclusions
  • Use data effectively to evaluate results and make informed, objective decisions
  • Connect PDCA to A3 problem solving for clearer communication, alignment, and accountability
  • Build a repeatable continuous improvement approach that can be applied immediately on the shop floor or in daily operations

Who Should Attend

This workshop is most valuable for individuals responsible for improving processes, solving operational problems, and driving performance: operations managers / plant managers, production supervisors / team leads, continuous improvement (CI) leaders / lean practitioners, manufacturing engineers / process engineers, quality engineers / quality managers, maintenance supervisors / reliability leads, supply chain / logistics managers, frontline leaders and high-potential operators involved in improvement efforts

It’s also a strong fit for cross-functional team members who participate in A3 problem solving or are expected to lead or contribute to
continuous improvement initiatives.
